Wake OnLAN / Wan, is a technology by which we can turn on a computer remotely just by calling software. Can be implemented as local area networks (LAN) and wide area network (WAN or Internet). It works basically as follows: The network card allows you to fall asleep while the PC is switched off completely. Software sends a signal to the computer and the network card, which is connected to the motherboard, turn on your computer. We must bear in mind that this function only serves to turn on the computer not to turn off.
Network card: All you need is a PCI network card, which will be connected to the motherboard via a three-pin cable.
Operating Steps:
MAC & IP: l or first thing to do is get the IP address and MAC address of the target computer.
Network card, network card must be compatible.
· Right click on Computer and select Manage
· Enter Device Manager> Network Adapters
· Right click your network card and select Properties
· Once in Properties, you should look for the words "MagicPacket", "Wake OnMagicPacket", "Wake OnLAN." Check that all options are checked.
· If you do not find these options, you may need to update your network card.
BIOS: Set the BIOS to power on by PCI card and verify that it is compatible
WOL
· The first thing you do is download from the home PC, a small program Wake-on-Lan (WOL)
· This is the interface
• Fill in the information obtained above
· Mac Address: MAC address (on the target machine)
· Internet Address: local IP address (on the target machine)
· SubnetMask: 255.255.255.255
· SendOptions: Local Subnet
· Remote Port Number: 8900
· Click the button Wake Me Up
After receiving the packet, the target computer should glow.
